428 90B Signal : The 428-90B flare provides either soldiers or distressed personnel with a means to report their position by day or night, on land and at sea. One 428-90B star can be seen for up to 34 nautical miles in clear weather for approximately 11 seconds. A practice version is available for training with a white star instead. This easy-to-use kit is supplied in a transparent pouch which prevents flares from being exposed to water and moisture. It is composed of four red flares, each of them comprising a single-shot launcher and a self-propelling rocket.
428 Rainbow :The 428 Rainbow flare provides either soldiers or distressed personnel with a means to report their position by day or night, on land and at sea. One 428 Rainbow star can be seen for up to 34 nautical miles in clear weather for approximately 11 seconds. The easy-to-use kit comes in a transparent pouch which contains four items of the same colour. Four different colours are available -red, white, orange, and green - which may be combined into various codes to be determined by users (i.e. red for a no go, green for landing clearance).
252A Day & Night : The 252A SAR device is designed to provide distressed airmen and divers with a dual-purpose signal to report their position on land, rivers and at sea. It is used : either with a red smoke signal by day or with a red flare at night. Both signals are activated independently, one remaining available even if the other one has previously been used. The 252A is waterproof and can therefore be employed for scuba diving to a depth of 70 m.
